Lisa, when I was still working, I had to work most holidays, so with my family, we moved our holidays around too.

I went to the farmer's market this morning. I bought some strawberries and Swiss chard. I bought a half dozen "orphan" lilies for $5; they were orphaned because they somehow got separated from the others that were sorted, and it's unknown what color or variety they are. But I don't mind surprises, lol.
I also bought a couple more annuals. They still looked nice and healthy, just a little "pot bound". They were marked down to $1 each. I got a purple daisy and one I had never seen before, a cigar flower. Very pretty orangy tubular flowers on it. I Googled it after I got home and found out it's actually a vine, sometimes called firecracker vine.

My dad came over in the afternoon and helped me plant the lilies, (he dug holes for me again, bless him!) and I found a couple of empty pots in the shed for the annuals. I'm going to have to watch for end of season sales on pots and planters, I should stock up on a few more if I find any good sales on flowers late in the season like I did today.
